What is WeNevaStop?
Wenevastop is
an
independent music label dedicated to the idea that
music should be free. This is derived from some schools of Anarchist
theory which believed most of the ills of capitalism were derived from
usury; particularly government maintained monopolies on currency,
property, and copyright.

It's one thing to be fairly compensated for the time you
spent performing for people, It's one thing to sell records, which in
and of themselves can be works of art, but another thing to pretend
that digital files created to advertise your performance are worth a
buck a piece.
A large part of why WeNevaStop was created was to illustrate that in
this day and age a record label is completely unnecessary. Regardless
of your goals, you're always better off Indie. We distribute/whore out
free albums. Everything is/will be up and available to download for FREE! Are the
artists who contribute still going to be selling their music? Sure, you
can still buy hard copies and we encourage you to do so. By all means
support local music. We're doing this help establish alternative
institutions to the established industry. We're doing this so someday
music will have a more egalitarian basis. We're doing this so that
maybe you will too.
How Can I get Involved?
We want your band/shitty
side
project. We'll "sign" just about anything
we can listen to without
wanting to jab forks into our eyes. That's an important part. We know
that recording quality isn't everything, but most people can only stand
so much clipping.
Here's
what to do:
Send us a copy of your album/EP/whatever you've got
complete with track list and cover art. We don't have an address yet,
but snail mail, or email, or myspace, or posting it on the forum, any
of em works fine. You can megaupload it, or
rapidshit, or whatever, and send us the link. Then we'll do our best to
put it up on our website as soon as possible. |
